Smith-Cotton High School Homecoming continues to grow. In 2018, there were 64 entries in the Homecoming parade including the Sedalia School District elementary schools, Central Office staff, extra-curricular and co-curricular clubs, and the junior high and high school athletic teams. Even the Food Service staff joined the parade as the “Greatest Lunch Ladies on Earth.” Adding to the excitement there were eight class reunions, three annual luncheons, and alumni rock ‘n roll concert over the weekend.

On Friday morning the 2018 Distinguished Alumni Award was presented to SC graduate Chuck Kempton with the class of 2019 in attendance. Following the parade in the afternoon, the Foundation hosted alumni and school district patrons in Smith-Cotton gym for a Tailgate Party before the football game. On Saturday morning the Foundation held a pancake breakfast at Smith-Cotton Junior High. The entertainment was provided by future alumni from the elementary schools and vocal students from the junior high.
