Sedalia School District #200 teachers, staff, and administrators are continuing their tradition of generous support for the Sedalia School District Foundation. In the 2016-2017 school year, district personnel will contribute over $9,000 to the Foundation through the payroll contribution program. Skyline Elementary School earned the “Thank You” soup and dessert luncheon from the Sedalia School District Foundation board of directors for the largest percentage of staff contributors in the Sedalia School District. Skyline principal Kelli McFatrich was presented with the red apple trophy at the December 2016 school board meeting and the staff enjoyed their luncheon in January 2017.

The Sedalia School District Foundation Distinguished Alumni Award has been established to recognize graduates of Smith-Cotton High School for outstanding achievements and contributions to society following graduation. These recipients reflect strong role models with strengths of character and citizenship to inspire and challenge today’s students.
Smith-Cotton High School will celebrate Homecoming weekend September 29 and 30, 2017. The Sedalia School District Foundation invites all alumni celebrating a class reunion to participate in the annual Homecoming Parade through downtown Sedalia and attend the Tailgate Party and football game on Friday at Jennie Jaynes Complex. The original Smith-Cotton High School, now Smith-Cotton Junior High, is open on Saturday morning for tours and a pancake and sausage breakfast.
The Sedalia School District Foundation, in conjunction with Major Saver, works with businesses throughout the district to offer a buy-one-get-one-free discount card to the community for only $15. Proceeds from the card campaign go to the participating schools and supports Sedalia School District Foundation programs for Sedalia schools. Since the first Major Saver Card campaign in 2001 the Sedalia School District Foundation and Sedalia School District have together raised over $375,000.
Major Saver cards can be purchased via cash or check in the Foundation office, or online at www.majorsaver.com. All cards purchased online will be mailed directly to the customer. Major Saver cards can also be purchased through the Major Saver App. Once the free app is downloaded to an Android or iOS device, buyers can choose through the app to purchase a physical Major Saver card that will be mailed to them or purchase a digital card.
